At Forest City Rats, we keep things simple. Our goal is to connect our rats with caring, loving homes, without unnecessary red tape or invasive requirements.

No Applications

We welcome all prospective rat owners. You’ll never be asked to fill out a lengthy application to adopt from us. We value your privacy and, because we don’t have the means to securely store personal information, we choose not to collect it in the first place.

Our Right to Refuse

While we don’t require applications, we do reserve the right to refuse a sale if something about the situation makes us uncomfortable. This ensures that our rats are placed in good homes and that our adoption process stays positive for everyone involved.

No Contracts

We also do not use adoption contracts. Once a rat leaves our care, they become the full responsibility of their new owner. We believe in trusting our adopters rather than imposing rules, conditions, or limitations.​

Not the Right Fit for Everyone

We understand that our approach isn’t the right fit for everyone. Some people may prefer more structured adoption processes, and that’s completely okay. If you feel our philosophy doesn’t align with what you’re looking for, we encourage you to explore other breeders or adoption options that better suit your needs.
