After purchase, the rat(s) become the full responsibility of their new owner. This means that once the rats leave Forest City Rats, all future care - including veterinary needs, medical expenses, housing, diet, and overall well-being - is the sole responsibility of the new owner. Forest City Rats is not liable for any health, behavioural, or financial issues that may arise after adoption.

Forest City Rats reserves the right to refuse or cancel any order at any time, for any reason. This includes - but is not limited to - situations where we feel uncomfortable with a buyer, where communication has been unpleasant or disrespectful, or where we feel the placement may not be in the best interest of our animals. All cancellations made by Forest City Rats will be refunded in full to the original method of payment.

Return Policicy

All rat sales are final, and no refunds are offered, including if a buyer changes their mind, decides to cancel, or can no longer proceed with the purchase for any reason.

While Forest City Rats may be able to accept owner surrenders at times, this is done at our discretion and does not constitute a refund or credit toward future purchases.

Purchasing Policicy

Pickup is by arranged date and time only. No surprise visits, please! We will be in touch with you via email following your order completion (be sure to check your junk/spam folders).

Purchased rat(s) must be picked up within 10 days of their availability date (unless you have selected delivery).

If we are not able to get a hold of you within 7 days of your order being placed, it will be automatically cancelled.

Please bring along a RAT-SUITABLE box or carrier for pickup unless you have either purchased a carrier through our website OR purchased 4+ rats (qualifying for a free carrier). Forest City Rats does not have extra boxes or carriers on hand.

No cages are included with the purchase of our rats. Please ensure you are set up for successful rat ownership before pickup.

We operate a CLOSED-DOOR rattery to ensure the safety and well-being of all pets and individuals in the household. Meaning, we do not allow anyone inside our home. Rats must be selected out and paid for in advance, as we do not offer meet-and-greet appointments.

Digital Product Policy

e-Gift cards are valid exclusively toward the purchase of rats and cannot be used for any other purpose. Gift cards have no cash value, are non-refundable, and cannot be redeemed for cash. Gift card balances may be applied only when rats are available.
